I am looking at either the xps, and the inspiron 7000. the xps is sweet with the screen and horsepower, but I really like the extra features the inspiron 7000 13 gives me like the flip, stylus, and much cheaper price. I know that with the cheaper prices comes not as good hardware, but I don't know if I need the upgrade to xps. It sure is awesome tho!

I am getting my wife the 7000 17" to replace our old acer 7720. she loves the big notebook. I like the 7000s looks and specs for the price.

I'm getting the Dell 13 7000 Special Edition in a few weeks. I got Dell to price match Newegg's price of $589. i5, 8gb RAM, 500gbHDD/8gb SDD, backlit keyboard, stylus and I'm getting it in Gold

Its a tough a decision. You won't get better value for money when it comes to the 'Inspiron' series. i had a Inspiron 1520 way back in the day. It was amazing. But once you get a taste for the XPS is hard going back lol.

I would say get the 700 for your wife, and use it for a while and then make a decision. :)
