I have a Dell 1501 Wifi card (broadcom) in my Dell laptop model N4010, its about 4 years old. After updating to Windows 10 I have to turn it on after every boot up. The driver says it is the most up to date, which is from 2013. The connect automatically is checked for the wifi.

Is this due the wifi card not being compatible with Windows 10 and there is no Windows 10 driver being available?

Could I purchase a replacement half height mini wifi card? If I can I would like to buy one that includes AC, can someone recommend a card that would work with Windows 10?

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for your Dell 1501 Wi-Fi? The 1501 should work with W10 with the default W7 drivers from Dell.

Also if you wish to replace the card you can try any of the half-mini Intel AC cards from eBay. One example here:
Intel Wireless AC 7260 7260HMW 802 11AC Dual Band BT4 0 PCIe Half Mini WiFi Card | eBay
