I am using the Touch (wm6.1) and all I get is the startup screen and then it shuts off. Is anyone getting anymore than that?

I'd have to imagine Skyfire is designed for a fixed resolution and then when it asks you what your device is on the download page (or what it detects), it gives you a version that only works on that resolution.

More likely they never considered someone trying it on that big of a screen.

Skyfire only performs well on QVGA devices. I've tried it on a VGA model and it has serious problems. As you said, WVGA kills it completely.

This browser is still a beta, and there's lots of work yet to do.

The guys at Skyfire have been working on their browser since last spring, and it's only on the third beta. It's going to be a long time before major changes happen, like support for other screens resolutions.
