Maybe some of you have followed the start-up of the wiki/gadget-lovers sight in the last week by the founders of Engadget and Gizmodo. I wanted to add my Redfly to the gdgt gadget list, but first needed to get Celio as a company into their database, so I completed a Celio profile page and submitted it. It was rejected. Here's the note: Sorry, we're only accepting companies for the database which design/manufacture consumer electronics products. We really appreciate your submission, and we hope you'll continue contributing in the future. I know they considered it as they approved another company I submitted (little known Neuros) about the same time. I still want to add my Redfly to their database and to my owned gadget list, but for now there isn't a category it fits in.

I emailed Ryan Block back and forth a bit last week. And this is what he said...

We'll be getting Celio / Redfly up in the system soon, we're totally swamped with submissions, but it'll be under a different section we're adding soon (Handhelds / PDAs). We aren't taking submissions for categories, but we'll definitely have plenty more coming!

The way gdgt works is that you need to have a live "company" page first before you can add a product.

It looks like the Company submission I gave him finally is live at

I'm going to try and add the REDFLY as a product to the company page and see if it gets approved. I'll post back here when live so you can add it to your "have" list.

Sounds like it's pretty crazy at gdgt with all the submissions they received, but hopefully they can approve the C8N and C7 as products soon.

Make sure they add the c8 as well - it may not be for sale now, but that is what a lot of us have.

I think their gadgets aren't working quite right ... unless someone like Harry Potter or Merlin works for Celio. It says your page was last updated a week ago, but first created 2 days ago. Now, that's what I call gadget wizardry.
