I was using it regularly until just recently. It has started not rendering Amazon pages correctly, opening other pages minus all pictures, i.e. just words in outline form and not loading pictures that are in a frame. I open these same pages in Internet Explorer and all is well. I should mention that I participate in Windows Insider.

    No, not at all.

It is slow beyond belief, the android version in fact is the fastest, faster than any android browser i know off. Therefore it must mean that the native edge engine is just inferior to the others.
Speed dial, yes it puts some often visited sites up there, but i don't want that, i just want easily accessible thumbs up there, of my own choosing.
Swipe to navigate, great, but it freaking reloads the page, so zzzzzzzzzz.
Same happens with mouse gestures. Again great, but the movement is way too unnatural and again it freaking reloads the page, instead of instantly serving the cached page, which i just visited MS!
Bookmarks, well, they tried, but compared to chrome for instance, it feels beta basic simple, while with syncing across devices and os, it really should have been used as a way to let people switch to edge.
Extensions, i already mentioned the mouse gestures, but how about that one add blocker? CPU load in overdrive and pages just not loading anymore. Ok, it works:) The name of the extension is adblock i believe, not adblock plus.

On the bright side, it is nicely designed, best of the bunch, note integration is sweet, and other assorted positive details, but overall, underwhelming performance on windows is totally ruining it for me.

I am back on using Firefox 57. Edge is definitely not bad, but it is just not stable enough for prime time, at least not for me. I love its design and text rendering, but I hate when it slows down. Extensions can bring the Edge down and cause crashes.
There are more than one ad block extensions available though, but do not work as well as on other browsers.
The 1Password extension just doesn't work well, and I really like 1Password. Overall, I use Edge sometimes when my Surface Book 2 is in tablet mode, but apart from that, Firefox is my main browser.

Still waiting....after all this time....for something so simple and so basic. MS could you pleeeeze enable Edge to open a web page link in a new tab WITH FOCUS ? It really is the only thing keeping me from using Edge as a browser on any kind of a regular basis.

This 'feature' (standard in all recent IE editions) has been awol from the get-go of Edge's release and remains so. It's not rocket science. I could care less about browser colors/light-dark schemes/extensions, even speed. Just make the damn browser usable. And maybe fix the syncing(lack of) of Favorites issue while you're at it. Basic services before bells and whistles....common business sense.

Every now and then I give Edge a try, but I always get frustrated and go back to Opera.

After FCU, a friend told me Edge was really good this time, and I decided to give it another chance, and I was using Edge as my daily driver until early this week, when all of sudden it started to incorrect render pages like Amazon, Facebook and even here on Windows Central, with non-responsive buttons and other things, and then it started to simply close with no clear motive. There's no error message, an specific website that causes it, nothing, I am browsing normally and it closes.

But it's always like this when I give Edge a chance, when I start to think it's really good and reliable, something bizarre starts to happen and I'm forced to go back to Opera...

I'm late to the conversation but I tried using Edge at work as my main browser on my Windows 10 laptop. I work in web development and we have to support Edge so I tested my website out on Edge and after a while it crashed. Not a big deal you may say, but the the crash broke the start menu and anything else that used it's rendering engine. So for example, the Facebook app was broken (I ran it to see what was broken).

Otherwise Edge is fairly nippy and it appears to render things fairly well. Chrome feels bloated in comparison sometimes because Google are trying to pack so much into it. I don't use Edge as my main browser at work anymore as I had to reboot to fix Windows.

I started using Edge at home to see how it fares. So far so good.

I have wanted to love Edge since its debut in 2015 and I have to say that it has been hit or miss until the most recent version came out-- version 41. While Chrome is my default browser, and I have been using Firefox Quantum, I am in love with this version of Edge. The laptop I am using is a 2016 Dell Inspiron 7353 and it is a dream. Everything loads quickly, the UI is beautiful, and overall it feels like a more natural user experience than using Chrome or a different browser. Edge is also getting lots of support (e.g. more extensions). I run 15 extensions in Chrome and Edge now has about half of the same ones whereas before it only had two or three. Unlike Chrome, thankfully, I don't feel like the extensions are slowing down Edge at all. Finally, and the best part, I have not had any of the issues that others have reported. Runs flawlessly EVERY time. Hope this helps!

It's an amazing browser that's quick. My only issue is that I cannot access my books on the Android app.

I keep going back and fourth with Edge. I would love to use it as a daily driver, but it's like so much of what Microsoft does... It's great in concept but terrible execution.

I am on the slow ring, but even still, it hangs up sooooooo much that it's maddening. Microsoft is a tech behemoth, putting a browser out like this is unacceptable on numerous levels.

I am a Microsoft guy, I've been using their products forever but I'm back to Firefox. Continue On PC is a great concept and I use it often... But Firefox does it better and you can even share from your PC to Phone.

Why is Microsoft loosing ground on this and will the eventually just cede the ground to Google and Mozilla and stop dealing with the browser, or is there a possibility of moving to a browser based on the blink engine like opera, etc.

I'm happy with it enough that I don't even have chrome or Firefox on my PC. Edge is my default and I have IE as a backup

Zac Brown wrote an article about the 2018 April update (to 1803) with a new Edge:
“What's more, Microsoft has redesigned the 'Hub,' which stores all your Bookmarks, Downloads, Books, History, and Reading Lists. No longer is it a small sidebar that's confined to the very right of your screen; instead, it's a large panel that slides out and takes up as much room as it needs, making the overall experience feel less cramped and more inviting.”

Load of old cobblers .. the hub is now utterly intrusive and cannot be resized back to its original thin size.

Where's the option to thin it down? It's a stupid fixed width.
