Just saw this and was about to make a thread. Really happy about this, this is a major title to be announced for WP8 at the same time as the other versions.

I am very happy that wp8 market is growing up very fastly...& when gta ia coming then its gonna be awesome.....but i have one doubt that gta will available for 512 mb devices...and if it's free...hoping it would be free and available for all devices (including Lumia 520) cause I have that...

Hmm. They said "Windows Mobile". Way to be current, Rockstar. :D

I hope that means Windows Phone. Although I'd be happy with it on Surface.

That's greedy to expect a high profile game like that for free. As far as it running on the 520, I'd say the odds are 50/50 it'll run on the 920, let alone the 520.

Assuming "Windows Mobile" = Windows Phone, it's almost guaranteed that it'll run on a 920. If it didn't support the 920, and by extension the 520, that would only leave the 1020 (maybe) and the 1520. Some consider the former a niche device while the latter was just released, so the install base will be almost nonexistent.

So what you're saying is Rockstar may be porting this game to a very limited amount of users. Doesn't make sense IMO.

We'll see the game on the 92X devices, how well it'll run and whether or not 512MB devices will be supported should be the questions.

Don't forget about 820. It sports exactly the same components.
CPU: 2x1.5GHz
GPU: Adreno 225
RAM: 1GB

I don't see why it wouldn't become available to 820, lower screen resolution makes no difference.
Except less detailed graphic, but it doesn't negatively affect performance at any way.

Thanks, I did forget about the 820, though my point is still the same. =p

I agree that screen resolution wouldn't make any difference. In fact, it may help performance since the hardware is pushing less pixels.

In the end, as long as you have 1GB of memeory, I think it's safe to say it'll run on your device.

yeah, I agree with you mate ;) just like running a game on PC in 800x600(SVGA) or 1024x768(XGA) makes a difference on PC's. I could play CoD4 on my old PC with 800x600 and lowest settings, but couldn't enjoy playing in 1024x768 with same, lowest settings.
I'm not sure if it will work the same way and cause any positive influence on gameplay performance, but it might happen. :p

It wouldn't make any sense to release this game only to 2GB RAM devices, as Windows Phone family has only 1020/1520 at the moment. (1320 will have 1GB) so also there are no upcoming devices with 2GB.

I think it will require 1GB on WP and 2GB on Android.

Well, let's wait an see! I'm excited. Can't wait to play such quality game on my Windows Phone device. Already played GTA III on Android - it was nice and entertaining... I expect huge battery drain on my Lumia 820!!!

If it didn't run on the 920, it wouldn't run on the 1020. They carry the same SoC.

This is a game I will certainly be getting, love San Andreas. Bit disappointed to see "Windows Mobile" though I must say.

I was taking the 2GB of memory in the 1020 into consideration.

However I get your point and agree. I was just trying to say excluding the 92X line of devices would not be a smart business move since that is a huge chunk of the install base.

I never denied the amount of 520 owners was larger than those with 92X devices. I was just saying that excluding the 92X series would leave a very small userbase to sell to.

Also, it doesn't matter how many 520s are out there, if the game can't run well on those specs, it probably won't be supported.
