    Same here. I wouldn't only offer temporary boosts though. I imagine offering special weapons and equipment as IAPs.

    I've spent a couple of minutes with the game now. I think you can safely increase the number of enemies, as it's perfectly fluent on my Lumia 1520 on highest settings. The only thing that is stuttering every once in a while is the background music.
    I'd much prefer a dedicated reload button over the combined evade/reload one though. I don't wanna perform a roll evertime I simply want to reload my weapon. :)

    But allow me one question.. Why would you call one of the protagonists after a porn actress? Oo
    Which one is the pornstar name? I can change names easily... let me know if you have any ideas.

    I'll add a couple of weapon packs as in app purchases. I'm thinking a Sci packof 8 guns and a mage staff pack of 8 more wizard staffs.

    I haven't had much time yet to progress any further, but I'll try and play some more levels tonight. I'll let you know my findings. But so far it's buttery smooth. Jenna Haze is the porn actress. I'm actually okay with the name, I don't care much. :) I was just wondering.

    Edit: I have something on my screen which I am not sure is intended.

    On bottom right it says "Development Build"
    On bottom left it says

    Just noticed that too ... Looks like it's running the development build. I uploaded the release version ... Perhaps I should have uploaded the master build. I'll put up an updated version when I get back home. I'm at the hospital right now as my wife just had our second child ... A healthy baby girl.

    Strange coincidence ... the same day that Gun Frenzy hit the windows phone store was also the day my 2nd daughter was born. 😃

    I've hidden the app. The first level is completely screwed up ... Enemies appear so slowly that you can't kill them before time runs out. Also, for some reason, the debug console is visible and ads aren't displaying.

    Already received two bad ratings because of it. I'll get a fixed version up as soon as I can. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    So how well did it run on a 512 Mb device? Which settings did you use for the graphics options? Did you enable or disable particles? Also, which device did you test it on?

    Hey guys ... quick update. I've made some fixes and will be releasing a new verison today. Should then be available on the store for download.

    I've added the following:

    Given the user a consumable power up that increases life, damage and makes weapons appear more quickly. Players start out with 3 of these and can use them whenever they find a level tough to beat. They can purchase 5 more for a dollar. Let me know what you think ... perhaps it should be 10 for a dollar?

    Also, for those that downloaded the previous release ... please make sure you update as this release contains not only a lot of bug fixes but also, as it's a final build rather than development build, it should run a lot faster and more smoothly. The development build has a lot of unnecessary code running in the background used for debugging.

I presume because most of the features weren't working as I accidentally uploaded the development build instead of the final build. For those that have downloaded the game, could you please put up a rating based on the latest version? I really don't want 3 bad reviews to deter people from downloading a good game. Many thanks.

    Regarding 512 MB support ... can someone please confirm performance on these devices? I really want to confirm it works reasonably smoothly (without a lot of crashes) before I use that as a selling point.

    Hi guys,

    Working on the next update to Gun Frenzy. It will include improved shadows and some additional weapons. I will be adding these weapons to the existing in-app purchase so if you've already purchased the equipment upgrade (new clothing and gun), you'll get these upgraded weapons without having to pay again.

    You can see that in later levels, you face a lot more than just skeletons. There are dragons and various types of demons. Anyone got that far yet?

    Hi guys,

    I've received several negative reviews from users with 512MB devices complaining about crashes. Therefore, I have no option but to remove 512MB support. It seems that my best efforts weren't enough to get it to run reliably on lower memory devices. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Also, I've gotten some feedback about allowing the main character to run and shoot. This should be do-able so I'm going to add this in the next update as well.

    Just submitted an update for the Windows Store version that adds the ability to move and shoot at the same time. Should be updated tomorrow once it passes certification.

    Working on porting the same changes to the Windows Phone version. Hopefully, I'll have the updated version submitted for that today as well. I think moving and shooting will make the game a lot easier to play on the phone.

    I'm also trying one last thing to squeeze the textures down to a level that will work on 512 MB devices. I really wish I had a 512 MB device for testing purposes. Basically, I'm going to add a checkbox on the main menu that you can select if you're running a 512 MB device and it will then compress textures by a factor of 8 so that hopefully it won't crash any more. It won't look too great ... but it hopefully will be playable.

    I've found some guidance on how to further optimize Unity games to make them run on 512 MB devices:

    I'm going to work on applying these and then will release to any willing beta testers with 512MB devices to see if it fixes things. If anyone wants to help on the beta testing for the 512 MB version, please PM me your Microsoft ID.

    I tried some of these ideas and put forward a version to some beta testers for testing but it looks like the gameplay level still crashes on a lumia 520. Will try a bit more but if that fails, I'll have to keep it as a 1GB RAM only game.

    Uploaded a version that should be working on all 512 MB devices! I've added some code to automacally compress textures on low memory devices so that they can play the game. However, players using devices with 1GB or 2GB RAM will still be able to play the game at full texture / detail size with all special effects. So best of both worlds .... I didn't end up sacrificing graphics and effects to accommodate low memory devices. :)

    I'm trying some tricks to improve the graphics on low memory devices. I've also added 6 powerful new, futuristic weapons. Laser rifles, plasma cannons and so forth. I've also made the first few levels easier and increased the ammo for all weapon upgrades significantly.

    One question before I push this out, do you guys feel that the beginner pistol should have infinite ammo? I'm thinking of making it a weaker gun but with infinite ammo so no need to reload. Would that improve the game or make it too dumbed down?

    I for one would like it to have a slightly weaker gun with unlimited ammo. And maybe you could increase the number of bullets the clip can hold. ;)
