Why do games always have to ruin when Windows upgrades?

I have a game on windows 10, I play it and it always glitches when I get to this certain part it always says the game stopped working and needs to close. I am trying to get windows xp but I cannot. Is there any other way to fix this?

If a current game, contact the developer. If an old game, first try right click on the game EXE and select Properties/Compatibility. Try selecting the XP compatibility mode in case that helps.

You could always run XP in a Hyper-V VM too for very old games so you don't loose the benefits of Windows 10.
