Do I need Xbox?

I have a Ps3 and but I like the style of the Windows phone more than Sony Xperia.
Is the Nokia 930 relying on the user having an Xbox? If so, is it possible to delete all Xbox apps?

Also, does the phone have its own 'app store' for downloading games and any other app, rather than playing Xbox games?

Uhhh, you don't need any game console to use any smartphone. The newest game console I have is a GameCube and I can use whatever I choose.

So NO, you do not need an Xbox to use a Windows Phone like the 930. (like how you don't need a PlayStation to use in Xperia.)

There is one Xbox app that connects to the Xbox services, but you do not need to use it.

It has its own App Store and everything.
Windows Phones DO NOT Play Xbox games like Halo 4 or Gears of War. They do have some Xbox-branded games in the store though.
