Any news on Microsoft working on a new elite controller?

I was thinking about getting the Elite Series 2 controller, but before I do, I wanted to see if there was any news anybody may have heard about Microsoft maybe working on a new one more compatible with the Series X/S (ie. Inclusion of a share button). An Elite Series 3 perhaps? With my luck, I would buy one and they would announce a new controller the next day.

Nothing announced and while it's safe to assume there will be a Series 3, I'm guessing the earliest will be later this year. The Series 2 was released in November 2019 so 2+ years before a new one makes sense.

No, I haven't been able to justify the price but I'd probably pick up one if it was on sale, which probably won't happen anytime soon b/c they are tough to find to start.

I think they made a statement about not releasing another yet. The first one was released in 2015. The second 2019. My guess would be 2022 at the earliest with a slight modification to add in the share button or 2023 to follow the 4 year pattern.
