So apparently Steve Ballmer talked about pricing of the surface with the Seattle Times and he said between $300-$700 or $800 so I am betting we will see a base model surface for $300 for the Win RT and $700-$800 for the Pro which is inline with earlier estimates. What do you all think?

Personally I can see myself getting a WinRT tablet for $300

I'll take a 300 dollar RT tablet. I might take two at that price.

yep, $300 is what I've been figuring was the magic number for me to get a Surface RT (would prefer to pay less if possible of course but, that seems too unlikely).

If I can indeed get an RT tablet for $300, I'll be there on day 1 with the money in my hand.

I'd love for the Surface to be 300 but a part of me is telling me it'll be more than that.

$300 to $399 would be the sweet spot. Still $100 less than base iPad, but with more inside. Another $100 for the full kb dock (the kb cover should be included). I'm ready.

I think the RT needs to be under $400 to be successful.

I agree I think Android tablets showed quite well that if you try and market a device on par with the iPad and price it the same it will likely lose. For whatever reason people seem to be more careful about their purchases of tablets. Except for those who apparently thought Samsung Tab's are iPads for some strange reason :dry
