I was wondering... is there any design reason why MS wont just make the charging plug a "pass through" design?
Basically put a female end on the opposite side of the currently existing male end of the plug.
Obviously it shouldnt pass through any power. It would just be a spot for the pen to attach to when the tablet is charging.

And I'm going to assume that if you try to attach a female end to another female end, then the magnets will actually just repel, so it shouldnt be a problem right?

I might try this out for myself when I get my SP2... I have some small neodymium magnets laying around. I wonder if I can just glue one to the charging plug and let the pen attach to that.

Of course its not going to be super secure, but if I have my tablet plugged in and charging, then I'm not gonna be moving around with it anyway.
This way, when I go to unplug my charger and pack up to leave, I wont forget the pen, it'll be right there on the plug and I'll just reattach it to the SP2 when I unplug it.

You best close this post before someone does say what I'm thinking.

Just say it lol. Has it been suggested before? Is sticking another magnet near the power connector a horribly bad idea? etc etc?

EDIT: You should fix your signature by the way.
