My Vivotab Note 8 went kapoot (USB port broke) and I've got the choice to pay $180 to get it fixed, or use that to get something else.

At $180, I get a pretty nice tablet back. That could go toward a new one too. Or I could use that to put an SSD in my laptop.

If I go for another tablet, I'm thinking:
Surface Pro 2
Surface 3
New Dell Venue Pro 8 5000

I've got an iPad mini 2, so a bigger screen would be nice.

Budget is about $400. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Surface 3 is a pretty solid device with good specs. You can go for that

Surface 3 starts at $500, but I've seen them on sale for up to $100 off... Or gently used prices would be better. Check Swappa.

I love my vivotab note 8, so far the best 8" I have been using. just consider it has wacom pen and GPS for offline naviagtion, so far I can't find a single new ones that can replace those unique features that I am looking for. just hope Mine won't break any time soon.
