Full phone backup/restore - email settings?

I have a Nokia Lumia 920. I currently have my Gmail account set up as an Exchange/ActiveSync account so that I can get push emails (and sync contacts/calendars). Since ActiveSync setup support was dropped, I'm wondering if there's a way to do a complete phone backup that keeps my email settings, just in case I need to send in my phone for repair/replacement.

If you have the backup option turned on (Settings > backup) then your account settings will be backed up (but not your account password). Whether this would be enough to convince Google that your Gmail account was an existing connection is a different question. I'm not sure, and Google's help pages aren't clear on the subject.
Of course you could move to Outlook.com...
