Creating Playlists through Windows Media Player

Greetings all,

I have a lot of music that I loaded onto a SD card (6,238 songs, to be exact!). I had all of this music on my blackberry and had created playlists using the bb desktop app.

While I now have all of my music, I don't have any of the playlists. Given the space that it occupies, I don't want to keep it all on my PC, but I want to create playlist.

Is there a way to create playlists directly on the phone/SD card using Windows Media Player on my PC (connected through USB) without having to have all the music resident on my PC?

There is this thread that helps with how to do playlists with Media Player. But I don't think it has anything about music not on the pc. Haven't seen that come up.
