My wife picked up a Lumia 928, I am trying to get her from getting a iPhone 5, I told her to give it one week to try it and live with it, if she hates it, she can return it and get what she wants. I just want her to give it a valid shot.

One of her complaints is on the Shutterfly app, She uses Shutterfly for all her pictures of out kids. On the iPhone version, you can upload tons in one shot. In the WIndows Phone version, you can only upload one picture at a time. This will not do.

Is there another 3rd party app that allows this for Shutterfly or is this the only option for Windows Phone (if this is the case, it's a big one for her) ?

Anyone ?

Is it just a cloud storage or a social network?

If it's just a simple cloud storage i will recommend her to use skydrive instead. It's very easy to upload everything to skydrive over windows devices. Not just uploading but syncing across windows devices natively.

Reminds me of my first job at a contact centre, where shutterfly was 1 of the employers, unfortunately i was absorbed in dell.
I'm not sure how open your wife would be to the idea of uploading pictures to skydrive, haven't used shutterfly app but there's an option to automatically upload your photos to skydrive account (7 GB)

I heavily doubt that there will be a 3rd party app for shutterfly.

Which phone did your wife use in the past?
If she never used an iphone, am 100% certain that
-She will end up quitting the 928
-Get an iphone
-Get bored and then look back for 928

Just show her the skydrive feature in windows and am sure she'll be fine, or not?

Here's a video about it

Shutterfly is a dedicated site for uploading photos, you can upload pictures and order photo prints on mugs, shirts etc.,
Skydrive is something different.

I know how skydrive is and I love it. She has been using Shutterfly for years now. She is not going to take 1000's of photos to move them over to skydrive, it just is not going to happen. Thanks for your help but, this does not resolve the problem or help

Has anyone used this app for Shutterfly and know of another app that might do what she needs here ?

Try to Contact the developer bcs their app doesn't support windows phone 8 fully yet as they last updated it in early 2012. They might bring more features as well of they update their app

From what I know, developers, specially big companies don't bother unless they have a huge number of people calling in for a support update.
Best example - Whatsapp for wp8
How about using shutterfly for older photos and skydrive for newer photos?

If she's not ok with the idea, iphone will be the way to go ;)

Looks like that is what she thinks she is going to do. She seems to like WP8 but, she even says the Facebook app is crap compared to the iPhone version (I kind of agree, looking at some things I open IE to do) and this Shutterfly app is a huge deal for her.

For those asking there is a Shutterfly app in the marketplace, it's not bad but, only allows you to upload one picture at a time.

She agrees with my biggest complaint with Windows Phone(but, I wont admit it to her), I love the OS but, the apps (even though it is growing) is very weak compared to iOS or Android. I'm not going anywhere but, I agree with her on that side of it.

the Facebook app is crap compared to the iPhone version - I haven't used Iphone's facebook, but the FB app from microsoft (because there are bunch of fb apps) is quite good actually, besides the lumia phone is extremely well integrated with facebook, twitter (which I dont use), you can upload your pics into facebook directly from the album. Also each contact (that uses facebook) on the phone has his own facebook profile, album etc.,

She can create a group of people, pin it as a tile and view all their fb feeds from 1 single section :).

These videos should give you some idea and hopefully you'll be able to explain her as to when it comes to social profiles, wp steals the show :).

I know ios and android have tons of apps to do the same things, but hey would you open 20 apps to do 10 tasks or do the 10 tasks from 1 place itself?

P.S. - I do have fb connected in my phone but I barely use it.

Issues like this is what is hurting WP. When you can't do the things you are used to, it makes things difficult and frustrating. Hopefully the Shutterfly app is updated soon.

There's a app called picloader that uploads to shutterfly and a few other image hosting sites. I've not used it but its worth a try.
