Actually, it's quite noticeable on a screen that big. The pixels are less dense. Therefore, making your image slightly blockier.

I have a 37" TV and I don't miss 1080p, so I wouldn't miss it on a 5.2" phone. This obsession with 1080p has gone too far. Soon enough there will be people demanding 1080p resolutions on Casio watches.

I havent used a device with a 1080p display, so the closest I got was an iPod Touch 5th Gen which I believe was 720p.

Is it really needed? Is there a major visual difference between 720p and 1080p? No.

Yes, it's needed.
Or at least will be needed for a device to be my next one, along with a 6" screen.
