Why does App folder needs to run in the background?

I've been playing with it but can't quite figure out why it needs to have active background. Is it for notifications? But for example my twitter app is already running in the background and giving notifications. Is it redundant?

If you have Twitter, Facebook or any app that is active and you have it in an App Folder, if you stop the App Folder from running in
the background those apps will also stop -at least that's what I can figure out. Try it and see.

if you want to know the answer, all you have to do is read the "dialogue" after you press on "app folder". This usually tells you what the background task does.

Background tasks update the app folder's tile on the Start screen if any apps in the folder are uninstalled.

Go to settings, swipe to applications and press on background tasks.

Dialogue ? Maybe you need Lumia Black, what "dialogue" after I press an App folder

App Folder said 0 because I had blocked it,
-unblocked, now I see -thanks
