DIY QI Charger

So the other day I was searching Amazon for Qi chargers and came across this:

Basically, a bare circuit board Qi charger for pretty cheap (About 13USD), Ships from China.

So I bought two. Arrived yesterday, they threw in a bonus capacitive stylus BTW.

Now, I have seen mods for the Nokia charger here on WP Central, but this opens up more opportunities for unique/cool/silly Qi mods.

For example, here's one I found over at XDA-devs, starts out with a custom wood stand, but later in the thread someone made a 3D printed version:

(I'm not so sure about the magnet though)

Myself? I took the lazy way and stuffed one into a cassette case:


Red light: No device
Blinking red light: Weak alignment, I think.
Blue light: Charging
No Light: Finished charging

I'll probably do something fancier some time later.

Nice! For $13, I see a creative thread popping up for people to show how they used this.

• Attach it to the underside of a desk
• Wire it up in the car
• Create an elegant desk stand from favorite or colorful materials

Possibilities are endless!
