A better Facebook app?

Today I tried to use the Microsoft Facebook app to read a message I had.

It was a long message, and to read it all I had to click "see more" which opened the Facebook mobile site in IE, amazingly.

In WP7/8 this would have arrived like a text message. Not in 8.1 though.

So what solutions are there? A better FB app? A way to re-integrate the chat? The store is a great big mess and no help in finding something decent.

I am in the same boat. Some links don't open in Microsoft app. I got engaged this weekend and people liked and commented on my change of status but I couldn't read it. On my Note 3 it opens fine! Any instagram posts won't show on my feed. Why not? Come on Microsoft! Write a quality app not one that only works half ***

I've ruled out these:

JDB for Facebook - an awful website wrapper with permanent ads.
Facebook by The Next Billion - just a website wrapper.
24 for Facebook - owing to the enormous flashing banner ad on the login page.

So far the mobile site is the best for functionality, so I've pinned it using Webapps. When I flicked through the store, all other apps seemed to be wrappers for the mobile site. Poor state of affairs on WP.
