I have been using 6Tag for about 6 months now and I love it but as I have started taking my photography more seriously I notice that all of my images are being ultra compressed, in the app statement it it noted that you can add HD photos but I cannot seem to find out how?
I use other apps to share my images but enjoy instagram as acts as a central hub that any and everybody has making it easy to connect.

Can anyone help me with this issue?
Thank you in advance for your time.

I just think its a windows phone issue... it does seem like both 6tag and instagram beta "blurs" the images...

Yes they do, I see it happening as I go from selecting the image and then proceeding to the filter selection a lot of detail is lost.
I mean my shots still look good but just not on par with others I see that are even shot with an iPhone.
I shoot with a 1520 & I'm pretty handy with a cam so I know I'm not the problem I truly believe its just the apps on WP atm. I'm gonna continue to ask around.
Thanks again for all your guys time.

Images are croped into a 1x1 square, if you crop it from a 1.3 mpx cam it will look like crap , but if take the shot from the lumia 1020 41 mpx of course the shot will look shaper , a good 5mpx or even the 8mpx from the 8xx and 9xx will look great.

I have a 1020, and yes! right after I crop the picture, it goes from clear to blurry..
I did some screencaps and experiments with uploading from 6tag and the instragram beta.
6tag creates larger images 1728x1728 (640x640 uploaded)
instagram beta creates 1024x1024 (612x612 uploaded)

both exported pictures have no problem, its just the uploaded one
I much prefer 6tag cuz the reduction seems much smoother..

this pic from instagram (NOT taken on a phone)

I saved this and uploaded via 6tag and the details are preserved, the pic looks exactly the same.

So I am thinking it might be better if we crop the picture, resize to 640x640 THEN we upload onto instagram. not sure why instagram beta uploads it to 612x612 tho..
I just resized the above gundam photo to 640x640 on thumba photo editor and uploaded via 6tag. yes, the uploaded one looks the same as the edited one.
so I guess if you want to preserve all the details of your pictures, resize to 640x640 first! make sure your app resize them nicely too.. thumba didn't really resize it smooth and pretty =v=

I've read 6tag has a noticeable difference in quality once the pic is uploaded VS the official Instagram app. Haven't tested it myself though. Plus, if the IG app is blurring your images after applying one of their inbuilt filters, I'd stay away from them for now & use a 3rd party app before uploading & just choose no filter in IG. Could be that they may not have completely optimized their filters yet on WP.

I just reuploaded my last image using my Nexus 7 tablet and it looked nearly identical. The original was posted via 6Tag, from my 1020. I'd have to do some serious pixel peeping to tell a difference. I didn't use any filter though, simple crop and post. I actually expected the Android upload to be better, too... I used the 7" tablet screen to compare them, too.

Maybe try post processing with fhotoroom? Supposed to have up to 21MP processing ability or something.

Just tried resizing in fhotoroom to 1728x1728 and uploading through 6Tag. Again, I cannot see the difference vs the raw image cropped via 6Tag, on my 7" screen.

I like to think I have a decent eye for this too. I've spent years comparing screenshots of Bluray movies and HD cable feeds, etc... Its just too hard to tell without blowing the image up. I rarely filter my images though, perhaps that's the while issue.
