I was wondering, are Windows Phone apps checked out by Microsoft for malware, compatibility issues, ect? I don't believe it's open source like Android.

IT does go through an approval process. Somethings do slip through the cracks just like on IOS.

worth noting that currently. making malware and submitting it through the store would be pointless, (unless the app is an imposter bent on obtaining personal information, thats probably possible) since apps currently can only touch their own things due to security.
