Is this a soft reset?

I'm holding down the power button until my phone restarts (around 10 sec). Is this a soft reset?

Generally a soft reset is holding volume down and power button at the same time until the phone vibrates. The phone will restart. No data deleted.

Holding the power button down is a way of getting out of a situation where the phone freezes.
