As of the moment, there is no need for such app, or any other anti-malware/anti-virus app for Windows Phones. The sand boxing technology implemented in Windows Phones covers that feature pretty well.

But still the edge browser gets infected by adware and malware and one gets redirected to a random porn site or an android application website

But the Edge Browser hasn't been officially released yet. Hence, flaws and security issues are expected - it's part of the testing-improvement-further-testing loop under the preview version. If Microsoft determines that there is a need for such Windows Defender in Windows Phones, I'm sure they'll release it pre-installed, yet how that'll will work given the sand boxing environment is unclear - perhaps they'll just integrate it into the Smart Screen feature or the default security features of the browser itself as opposed to being a completely separate app.

I believe, however, that the first line of defense against malware and adware is knowing when, where and what to and not to click... or tap.

Have you tried clearing your internet cache, files and history from your phone?

Settings > Internet Explorer > delete history
Settings > Internet Explorer > advanced settings > manage storage > check everything inside and delete them
Storage Sense > phone (or SD Card) > temporary files > delete

Since Edge is an app, it'll be updated with any relevant security updates as they're released.

For the rest of the phone's functionality, a defender app just isn't appropriate.
