I've been a proud owner of a 710, 800, 920, 830 & 930. Last week my 830's capacitive buttons failed to work, first it was an intermittent event, but eventually it ceased to function for good. Both my 920 and 830 have suffered from such and sadly, I had to bury them in my drawer of phone relics. I'm puzzled as to why WP 7.8, 8.1 or 10 have never had persistently floating apps that are always accessible no matter what app you're in. I purchased my first android phone last week, a moto g, it was meant to hold me over until WP10 flagships launch later on this year. Android apps such as Facebook messenger amazed me with its persistent chat bubble. It seemed to be always present, overlaying every app I was on. Thus giving me instant access to it. Having a persistent app that can substitute for my dead capacitive buttons would singlehandedly resurrect both my 830 and 920. Where are WP version of persistent apps?

I never used a screen protector on any of the phones. But thanks.

That sucks. You should still try the screen reset tapping method. You can find instructions online. If anything increase touch sensitivity and make sure you're on denim.

That is my nightmare... FB that won't go away.

Seriously though, Windows Phone does not give one App consent to act within another App like that. Excepting core Apps. It's part of the security of the OS I believe.
