The marketplace for Windows phone and Windows suffers from heavy spamming even now. With the launch of WP8 and W8, Microsoft was planning to increase the number of apps in the store; but they did it in the worst way. They let any app in which caused the store be flooded with these spammy apps. I think an app store with a small number of apps that are of quality would be way way better. I don't care if there are 1 million apps in the store.
So, to mitigate this problem now, other than rating the apps, users should be able to report apps to Microsoft. This way, when an app gets too many reports, someone could check the app and decide to remove it. I believe this will clean some of the garbage from the store.

You can already report apps now from their details page in the store.

Honestly, I didn't know this existed. In wp8.1, there was a report link but I thought it was related to download issues and such, and when I click it, it just takes me back to the store page of app. But after seeing your post, I went to the store in my PC, and find the "Report this app" button, which opens up a dialog to describe the issue and submit, basically this was what I'd been looking for. So maybe, this thread should be converted to something such as "as the windows community, let's take action to have spam apps removed from the store." . Btw, I dont mean third party client apps as spam such as 6tag, but there are apps that are really irrelevant.
