Who Still Misses the 925?

So who all miss the 925? Out of every Lumia flagship, this and the 1020 imo have been the MOST asked for when it comes to receiving a modern successor. Many want another 41 megapixel Lumia and many want a modern flagship Lumia with the 925 design.

It was slim, had the best Lumia camera of it's time (except 1020 of course), had a beautiful AMOLED display, Glance an aluminum frame, etc.

I miss that design so much and really would love to have another Windows Phone continuing it which is why I was shocked when I saw the 950 & XL weren't going to finish what the 925 and later 830 started.

I recently started using my busted up 925 due to the need for wifi calling and yeah, I forgot how nice it felt in my hands. Makes me wish MS released a 935 in the same vane as the 920 to 925.

To date, the 925 was the best hardware design. I'm just in the process of moving from my 925 to a 950, I really wish MS would have stayed with this type of design. That being said, I am glad I can now expand the memory, and the new camera and other features of the 950 are nice, but the body design of the 950 is inferior to the 925, IMHO.

Not too sure how to get the body of the 925 and a removable battery on the same phone, though. Yet, maybe Mozo, or someone else, will make a back plate near the same quality as the 925, just have to wait and see.

Well the 925 back was removable, it just took some force just like the 930. Just slip a nail or something under the polycarbonate and then go around and pop all the clips and it'll come clean off.

They could do that but maybe make a pin hole or something that the sim key can go into to pop it off easier. That way the back can be completely seamless unlike the 830, but also be removable unlike the 925. Then the battery could be removable.

The Nexus 6 design looks Nokia Lumia 925 inspired...

Motorola latest designs are Nokia inspired period, now that I think of it!! They have adopted the metallic rim around the phone with bands on the top and bottom with a poly back right along with the camera strip design Nokia did on the 900, 920, and 620, etc.

Having moved from the 925 to the 1520 in August of 2014, I rarely look back.

Don't get me wrong, I loved my 925, but the Beast Phone[SUP]TM[/SUP] just offers so much.

The 925 (to date) has been/is my all time favorite. My very first smartphone was the 521 (2013). Loved the Windows OS and within a couple of months I bought the 925. During that time I had friends that did not have a smartphone. I was so pleased with the 925 I purchased a few (over a period of months) and gave them to my friends (they were not able to afford much). I gave my initial 925 to my ex (long story don't ask lol).

Long story short, after gifting 4 925's I got myself a *new* one this past summer (on ebay---display/demo new) because I just missed it. I've bought the HTC M8 for windows, 830 (3 --- have gifted two of them to new users), 735 (love this one), and a couple of iPhones (just because I'd never had one) but even now the 925 is my all time favorite (so far). Outstanding device. I still use it often. It became a whole new experience ( in a positive way) with the Denim update ..... even much better now.

I'm not sure, my 925 (AT&T version) doesn't seem like the back can pop off. It seems like an all-metal body, rather than polycarbonate.

Don't get me wrong, if I had to give an award for best Windows Phone I've ever had (haven't tried the 950, but have had every WP flagship since the 920, excluding the 1020), I'd hands down give it to the 1520. I love giant phones so the 6" screen is great for me right along with everything else it packed.

Pretty much all of my 925 missing comes from the design perspective. The metal rim, poly back with bands, slim sleek body, modest camera bump and the cool shape that it and the 1520 share.

If the 1520 had a metallic rim around it with a poly back. It would have even MORE ahead of it's time than it already was. The device still does demolition in 2015 and holds it's own against 2015 flagships.

The one I have sits in it's original box unused, undamaged in excellent condition.
So far my favorite phone of all time.

I actually think it may never be topped...at least for it's design and popularity.

Design and screen were so far ahead of their time. MS needs to remake this with a 5 inchish screen, qhd display and 32gb minimum storage and it would have a flagship hardware wise that would rival Apple, motorola, HTC or Samdung.

It really sucks how Nokia Lumia flagships were SO ahead of their time and didn't get the praise they deserved due to Windows Phone not keeping it's end of the relationship on par with the competition.

Now other OEMs are just nibbling away at Lumia leftovers

Apples living images, The 5c design, Motorola's latest phone designs (Nexus 6, and Moto X Style are very 925/920 inspired), Motorolas glance-like screen, etc.

Sad to think the days of the great Nokia designs are no more...
The 925 to me represents the pinnacle.

Really glad I got a brand new one at a very reasonable price.
If it hadn't been for this forum I never would have known about it.
