Can i get this phone from US to India which says contract free?

It will in At&t network, so will the phone be locked if so should I do anything before getting to India or can i do anything from India ?

Some people use a shipping service from the US that will forward your parcel to you. I do not know of one that would work for India or what it might cost. Hopefully someone will add that info.

The device would be locked to AT&T. When the phone arrives make sure there is NO SIM in it before powering it on. That is a key element.
