Hey all!!

With the whole platform integration of windows 10 seemingly making way , I'm thinking of grabbing a windows phone to see how it'll do for me. I have a band and a surface. Just really want to test the waters.

My question is, can anyone recommend a decent handset that's findable for under ?100? Doesn't have to be first hand! Perhaps the 550 will come down in price fairly quickly ?? I'm not looking to replace really, just dabble.

Anyone else made the switch ? How was it for you If you have ?

Have you taken a look at the 640? Its easily found for only $40 and is very nicely designed and performs well. There's also the 640 XL if your into phablets.

For the price point you are looking at I would recommend the L640 as well. You can buy it new through MS for under a $100 and eBay is another place to look.
I have the whole family on WP and everyone from the teenagers to my wife and I are happy with the platform.
Good Luck

Ive just seen on the carphone warehouse theres a few decent looking deals :

435 - ?70
535 - ?70
550 - ?90
640 - ?90 (give or take eBay prices)

Might be able to get a little money off from Carphone too. So could drop the first 3 down a little lower (perhaps...ill ask tomorrow)

What do you guys think?

I would say if you just want to try it out, the 435 can meet it but it might be too low, even though it does pretty decent for the price point. The 535 has/had touch issues so I don't know if something like that can be an annoyance and can also change your experience. The 550 has Windows 10 mobile loaded, so if you'll like to try Win 10 mobile, that would be your best bet. The 640 is pretty solid too.

I'd say go with the 550 or 640 and stay away from the first two. Like libra89 said the 535 is known for having touch issues and the 435 is probably not going to bee too great in the long run considering it's low internals.

The 640 & 550 will be very future proof and due to being newer, have good continued support from MS.
