Has anyone managed to get TinyVNC to connect to a RealVNC 5 server? I'm running RealVNC 5.3 and trying to connect to it from my Lumia 950 but it just won't connect. I checked in the settings and VNCAuth is enabled, but it still won't connect. I've set the protocol version to 3.8, am using a VNC password but I get the error:

"Connection error - the server did not provide a supported authentication method. Supported methods: VNC Auth and None".

I want to connect from my phone to a Raspbian installation I have but am really struggling. It's driving me crazy!!!!

BTW - I should point out that TinyVNC is an app from the Windows Phone Store.

Fixed it. I removed realvnc and put on tightvnc. Now works a treat!

So it's more of the issue that realvnc uses incompatible protocol?

Yes. Realvnc 5 used propriety encryption.
