My 950xl is still my daily driver. I bought an LG G6 to try andriod again. Guess what I still hate the andriod OS. Great app support and customization capabilities. But it still suffers from the same issue that attracted me to windows mobile in the first place. The "I can't find my app" or needing to open the app to get a quick update on something.

Has any windows lovers ever wrote to Microsoft and told them not to give up on windows mobile . I think if MS is really calling it quits on their phones they should make it possible for users to be able to use a different platform
Yep, feedback hub got something from me that could probably qualify as more of an article than a comment. I am sure they cruise and take note of sites like this one too so feel free to post what you want them to know, plus it's nice for others who feel like you do to read your post.

I honestly don't think Microsoft is ditching phones, I think it is more like they are going to be migrating the UWP parts of W10M to their new "Code-Named Andromeda" device, whatever that ends up being. But they seem to be laying the groundwork for something lately. I am looking forward to the unveiling of whatever it is.

I'm still using a Lumia 640 as main phone for two years and keep counting. I had W10 on it but has some bugs quite annoying and kept W8.1. I don't regret the choice I made. Is one of the best phones I had (on the price, of course).

Just put a new battery in my 950XL, because I can't let go.. :) Still mostly using a iPhone 6S, but the 950XL is too nice to let if wither away. Next up, install that new camera cover glass that I bought years (?) ago when I cracked the original.

On an unrelated note, I can't believe they're not dumping those mozo charging cases. Shouldn't those cost like $15 by now?

I use my 950XL as it's my phone, I have a worked supplied Samsung and hate it.

    My wife uses her 950.

We will use them till they become unusable or a suitable replacement becomes available, we hope they will be phone sized devices that run full blown W10 with telephony, my personal favourite will be that we can port our mobile numbers to our Windows accounts so we could then make calls to and from any PC like our Surfaces and Xbox's as well as the smaller devices.
The best OS, and I refuse to let it go because other people were clueless. Yeah, this is how I choose to see the world.

I am still using my L920 (0 day device here in NZ). It suffers from frequent browser crashes but I make do. It has been dropped a million times on concrete, the flash is shattered, but the camera works fine. I have access to newer android/iphones but losing my SMS and call history would be a pain I am not prepared to go through just for an upgrade. I am holding off for the next big thing from ms, hopefully this year :)

Both the wife and I are using 950XLs. Wife hates her work Android. I just bought two Idol 4Ss as backup in case either of the 950XLs give up the ghost. A very nice looking phone for $99, but call and camera quality not quite as good as the 950XL. Windows phone does everything I want. My bank and Vera home automation system still have apps for Windows phone, but I rarely use the bank app other than to login to see if it's still working.

I still use my Lumia 950XL. To replace it with a phone that has the same or higher quality camera i would be looking at AUD 1,000 +. My wife and 3 of my kids have Lumia 650. My father also has a Lumia 650. We all enjoy using our windows phones. Yes they dont have ALL the apps but they have the apps that we use.
I suspect Microsoft's next move will be to allow ARM mobiles to run full windows and at that point i will likely upgrade.
I do anticipate my phone will only last another 12 months and will need to look to upgrade at that point.

I agree that the one of the big reasons for not killing W10M (besides ******* off the thousands of us still using it) is that parts of it will be siphoned off to the Andromeda device for use in the folded position. Hopefully we see this device sometime later this year. Until then I will continue to use my X3 daily, with my 1020 for my travel camera and still have my big yellow 1520.3 just in case.

    L630 private and L650 work.
And why not? It is the way of the least effort. Just go on.
All the essential functionality for communication just works, and remains working.

Do I want to have something else at a certain stage? Of course, but changing now at any price? I do not see the point to that. My phones work for me so I do not see a need to distract myself from other things having to chose another phone and have to redirect my communication towards it. Changing takes effort.

I currently use my X3 Verizon version as my daily driver. I also still have my 950XL to use as I finally got the camera lens fixed. I also have a 950 but don't use it much except for testing some things and keep it as an emergency spare.

I still love my Lumia 640 XL LTE (on AT&T). There are a few apps I would like to have that are not available for it, but so far none that I can't do without. I plan to continue using it until fall of 2018, then I will see what my options are...

I used my 950XL up until last week. The camera was what kept me pulling it out of the drawer over my LG G6 and then I just kept using it since I really liked windows and the Lumia hardware. Just got a new Pixel 2 XL which I seemed the only thing that would be a good replacement, and I was right. I like it a lot, and the app advancements over windows 10 would make it too hard to go back now. one plus to Windows 10 though is way less ads in apps; everything in android has ads.

I live in Costa Rica and bought a 1520 in amazon like 4 years ago and still is a great phone, now I have a 950XL, I switch between them from time to time. I do believe WP8.1 was way better in performance than WP10 but I updated both. Love both but the 1520 feels better, both in looks and performance, don't know why, since the 950XL has better processor and RAM. I do prefer WP over Android or iOS. I have used both (LG something and an iPhone 6) but it's not the same. For me WP is more intuituve and better looking. Too bad Microsoft never invested in merchandising that OS. If the Surface Phone ever comes to life, I would buy it for sure.

I still use my 950xl and enjoy doing so, but I was forced to buy an android phone because of my love for gadgets and sadly that means apps. Despite not being as fluid or quick as newer phones out there, I still prefer using my 950xl. It's got a decent quality camera and I like the tiles more than I realised. I bought a LG V30, The hardware is great but it feels like using an iPhone no matter how much you customised it.

I still use my 950 as my primary device... I have seen ios and android, but they don't interest me at all. After all, Vista died -- so why would I want to go to an OS that has static icons and uses widgets to fake live tiles? I've had this phone for over 2 years and am considering purchasing a 4S just to make sure I have something to fall back to.

Sad that nadella came in and killed the product. Superior OS with wonderful camera and a very user friendly interface, he just never let it have the chance. :(

I was out of town. My wife's Lumia "broke" while I was gone. She went to Verizon and switched over and picked up an LG G6. I ordered a refurbed Samsung ATIV SE and it was nice for a few days. (despite not being on the W10M upgrade path) but it died. I had to leave town again and NEEDED a phone. I picked up a Samsung Galaxy, came home. Went about trying to set it up and got furious at the interface.
I grabbed an old GSM phone (OLD: HTC HD7). Ran to Verizon, returned it and cancelled the line. Stopped by Walmart and picked up a SIM kit.
Now I'm rocking an Idol 4s.
I won't switch. I hate Google for their political views. I hate Apple for their super high walled garden forcing people into an iLife.
Nah, If I can't Windows Phone I'm going dumb phone.
As far as features and apps leaving: I'll survive. If it needs an app to work I won't buy it.

I broke down about two weeks ago and got two oneplus 5t, one for me and one for my wife. We love our 950xl, but the slow loss of apps was the breaking point, esp for my wife. I prefer WM UI, live tiles, navigation, camera, etc over android. I'm still using my 950 and don't see that changing anytime soon. Right android is temporary - Still holding out for the next gen windows mobile device.
