Unless they make IE a lot leaner and meaner, I can see the need for there to be more RAM. It confuses me that the second Surface had only 2, I expected 3. I know that we're not likely getting 64-bit until next year, so 4gb is worthless right now.

Or am I missing something that makes 2gb enough? I know that IE 11 seems to be using 100mb per tab.

I think for 90% of users, 2GB is enough. Sounds like the system will use less ram in Windows 8.1 update 1 releasing next month. Hopefully that will fix your problems! But I'm sure 3GB wouldn't hurt, probably just for cost reasons.

I hope so, I'm getting tired of pages having to refresh because of RAM.
