Seems a sensible move by Microsoft. Nokia brand is far to valuable to throw away...as is Lumia. The Surface branding hasn't taken off...most people still call them Microsoft tablets.

I think they should keep Surface Pros in the Surface brand, since they are powerful work machines; and move every other entertainment tablet to the Lumia line.

there's no way they would use Lumia as the branding for the tablets.

Seriously, you guys think people know Lumia more than Surface???

As for Nokia, it's more important in the rest of the world than in the US. In the US, Nokia is a dead brand. Everyone under the age of 30 thinks of Nokia as their parents/grandparents phone... I was listening to an Xbox podcast and they were brutally mocking the Nokia phones, saying no one in their right mind owns Nokia anymore. It's iPhone or Android to them.

I think surfaces are extremely well designed tablets but too expensive, if cost was lowered more people would own this tablet and brand and understand it
