Hdd replacement

Hi. I have a lenovo t410 which has a faulty hdd but have been given a Toshiba satellite.the lenovo was running Windows7 and the satellite was running win8. I have put the new hdd in the t410 and bios recognised it but when I boot up I just get a flashing line in the top left corner. I don't want to wipe the hdd as I can put it back in the Toshiba satellite laptop.

Long story short you need to reinstall Windows on that donated hard drive. The existing installation would have drivers specific to the Toshiba it came from.
