Okay what is the deal Microsoft? Is the lack of XBOX video on WP8 devices or any other significant downloadable video service a permanent thing or are we waiting for some sort of software update? Even Blackberry has a video store. Anybody have any info on this?

You can vote for it in the Suggestion Box. I know, it is a joke, as those are features we shouldn't have to ask for.

This is one of my few gripes with WP8. I would love to be able to purchase a movie while I am traveling.

Microsoft has monumentally f@#ked over its users with Xbox video & Xbox music. They took 10 giant steps backwards when they killed off Zune!

You guys are starting to scare me about upgrading to WP8. Xbox Music is good on Win8. Hows it so bad on WP8?

I wish we could get an answer from MS on this issue one way or another. Perhaps Amazon will be motivated to make an Instant Video app a la iOS for Windows Phone since Microsoft is evidently out of the game.

Guys Microsoft says Xbox Movies can't be watched on WP8 device because WP8 doesn't support DRM at the moment which is used in all Xbox Movies. Once DRM is added to WP (perhaps with WP8.1) they will add Xbox Movies to join Xbox Music on WP.

So Microsoft needs to add a DRM module for video?

Yes, they need to add DRM (digital rights management) to WP.

I hope all your dreams come true, but movies on a phone is one of the last things I need from Microsoft or anyone else. Amazon has become my preferred movie streaming, rental, (and only occasionally purchasing) option. I can watch Amazon rentals or purchases on my Fire, Surface, Toshiba Portege, HP Envy 27-equipped desktop, and through my Roku, on my TV. I have a higher need for an Amazon Outbox app or functionality on my RT. Hope to see that at the Store soon.

    Best, preferred viewing to all.
