Can I use a Microsoft Store Gift Card to purchase a 12-month Groove Music Pass?

My 12-month Groove Music Pass is up for renewal and as there aren't any good deals around at the moment, I wonder if I could cash in some of my Microsoft Reward Points for a $100 Windows Store Gift Card and use this to pay for my music pass?

I know there are some restrictions as to what products you can pay for using account credit (after I have loaded up the gift card to my account). Has anyone tried this successfully?

Looking for some confirmation before I spend all my points on a $100 gift card!

Thanks.

Probably not. I know that at one time I had won a Windows Store gift cert and I had to use it for apps (games or productivity), OR for direct music and video purchases. I specifically was prohibited from getting a Groove monthly subscription, believe me I tried, but the "small print" said no and when I contacted support they also said no. :( Plus I had also actually TRIED to apply the credit and it would not work.
