Got a message that I needed to sign up for Office 365 and all spreadsheet files became read only. Meaning you can't even enter data into a cell. Apparently continuum requires a 365 account. Overrides the free office guarantee from MS on screens less than 10 inches. Any solution cheaper than $100 / year? Is there a way to load windows 8.1 version or libre office? I just might also have to carry my HTC M8 for excel app

The version of office used for continuum is different than that on your phone in that it is cloud centric and thus requires O365 subscription. I currently pay $69 per year using one of the many discounts available

You were right, ms account wanted a sign in for some reason, excel started selling office 365 at the same time. It wasn't making sense so asked the group. Thanks
