I have an HP Stream 7 that I bricked when I tried to install build 10049 through windows update. None of the touchscreen drivers worked, audio didn't work and I didn't even have networking. So I tried to install a 10074 ISO a month or two later and the thing died during installation, corrupting everything. Fast forward to 3 days ago. I downloaded RUFUS and the build 10162 ISO and created a bootable drive with a USB, successfully installing the operating system on the device. I had wifi but I lacked the touchscreen, audio, etc. I went to the HP Website to download the drivers for my 5709 version of the stream 7. The drivers page wouldn't load on either my HP Stream 7 or my Surface Pro, both running windows 10 build 10162. I even tried opening the page in Firefox hoping the drivers would eventually load. They didn't. I stumbled across a page that had the direct links to the drivers for the 5701 version of the Stream 7 so I tried installing those. I gained touchscreen control, audio, updated the BIOS, updated the intel drivers, etc. This sped up the device and made it smoother save for one issue. The Start Menu, whether in tablet mode or desktop mode, crashes just seconds after opening it, making searching for apps a bear and making tablet mode unusable. I even updated via windows update to build 10166 and for a second it worked fine but after that it didn't work. I've tried turning off animations, turning off transparency, closing other programs but nothing seems to stop the start menu from crashing all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I find and install the 5709 versions of the drivers instead?

I was having a lot of issues with a Stream 7 until updating BIOS Touch driver and G-sensor drivers. I was however able to download them from the HP site with no issues.
