1. Are there 2 ways of resetting the 8S?
2. How is the soft one made? Holding the powerbutton until phone goes black?

I also wonder what format I have to make a film to make it play on the 8S? mp4?

Resetting the phone removes all data from the phone and restores the default settings.
The soft reset is done by going to settings-> about phone.
The other one is hard reset.(power button + volume button)

This is not correct...
A soft reset clears and shuts down all active programs. This can help when the device is running slower than normal or not performing properly
You can do it on this way:
Press and hold the Power key on the top of the device.
Slide down the screen down to power off.
Press and hold the Power key to turn on the phone.

A hard reset will erase all downloaded content, including ringtones, images, videos, applications, and contacts stored in the device?s internal memory.
You can do it in two ways:
1.From the Start screen, swipe left.
Tap Settings.
Tap about.
Tap reset your phone.
2.Turn off the phone.
Press and hold the Volume Down key, the Power key, and the Camera key simultaneously.
When the phone vibrates, release the Power key.
Continue to hold the Volume key and Camera key for another five seconds and then release.
The phone will automatically reset.

This is called : powering down your phone and turning it back on. This is in no way a reset.

It's also possible to hold the power button for a long time and eventually the machine will power down without having to swipe down. In case of a severe hang.

A forced restart, when the touchscreen is not responding can be done by:

Press and hold the Volume Down button
Then press and hold the Power button
Release the volume down button
(the phone will vibrate once)
The release the power button

This will restart the phone.

I do forced reset by pressing both volume buttons and power button about 10 seconds.

I had to do this several times when I started to use the 8S, when I was learning how to use it, and all forced resets worked fine.
