HTC 8s wi-fi problem

Hi, i recently bought a HTC 8s, and I checked for any updates today, my problem is that the update is 490mb, and i'm not able to connect to my wi-fi, and i'm not willing to use half my phones data on an update... so, is there a way to download the update on a computer?

go outside and connect to a free hot spot, i am sure you can find a place that has wifi.
