wp7 apps incompatible?

Just got my 8x today, in general terms I am very pleased however, I have some major concerns around apps. Some of my favourite wp7 apps don't appear to work on my new phone, specifically kindle (a very big deal for me) and the daily Garfield tile. Both apps refuse to launch and just crash back to the start screen. Additionally, navigon does not support the 8x screen resolution although I am hopeful this will be cured by an update. Any ideas on the kindle app? It launches the first time but cashes out on all subsequent launches, no kindle = phone goes back, it is my most used 3rdcparty app.

That's strange. WP8 should support all WP7 apps. Have you tried uninstall/reinstall? You could also try a soft reset.

Tried all that, a number of other users seem to be having problems with kindle - the same one i.e. app will not load after the first time. It seems a recent update is to blame, all versions of WP seem to be affected, have to hope that Amazon will fix it
