Weird SMS (text messages) issue

Hi,

I?m a very happy user of HTC 8X (i?m coming from Android platform ), but i?m getting a very weird issue with text messages (SMS) :

When i send SMS (text only) to a specific mobile phone (Samsung E2210B model), in order to remote user receive my text message, i have to include a smile icon (ex : :grin: ) at the end of my text message, otherwise remote user don?t receive my message at all.

Anyone with a similar issue ?

I've not seen that issue before. What do you mean by " in order to remote user receive my text message"? Since this to a specific phone/user, it doesn't sound like a problem on your end.

Yes, i also believe its not my problem, but its weird why this happens at all, first time with a issue like this.

I've done more tests now :

if i try to send this text message : "a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t"

Remote user just receive : "a b c d e f g h i j"

but if i try to send this text message : "a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t :grin:"

Remote user receives complete text message.

make sure you dont have an automatic signature or a reply to set up in your menus, when you do it changes it to mms so ive seen it cause issues with certain phones or when messaging another carrier.

This. Some devices don't support signatures or callback information and so when they receive it the phone doesn't know what to do with it and can cause issues.
