Hi all, first time poster...
I have a Rogers HTC 8x and I was going to unlock it and take it with me to Europe (Italy mostly) this summer so I was trying to do some research ahead of time as far as frequencies/bands and if it's even worth the expense.
From the Rogers website, I see that the phone supports the following bands:
GSM/EDGE Bands:850/900/1800/1900
HSPA+/HSPA Bands:850/1900/2100
LTE Bands:700/850/AWS/1900
From what I've been able to tell, TIM in Italy uses 900Mhz/1800Mhz but I think that's straight up GSM/EDGE. Wikipedia lists TIM LTE as 800/1800/2600.
So presuming that it's GSM/EDGE, my Rogers HTC8x would be able to use TIM's GSM/EDGE on 1800Mhz, but would not be able to use 3G or LTE frequencies (or speeds)?
