Does the GDR2 update break Google Apps Exchange?

Can someone please check if the GDR2 update breaks Exchange support for Google Apps for Business?

Just asking because Microsoft is actively blocking that on Windows 8 and because I need Exchange for our GAB account (need push email) or I won't be able to stay on the platform.

google terminated exchange activesync support that MS used for windows 8. MS is going to add CalDav and CardDav in the GDR2 update for WP8 and now on windows 8 uses IMAP for connection to google services. IMAP though doesn't sync with google calendar. EAS is still supported for google apps business without the calendar though. The support will be added back but if you can't wait on updates best to just get yourself an android phone.

Yupp - google apps for business still has exchange support in place - so has anyone been able to test this with GDR2?
