Whining sound while picking up calls on my HTC 8X

Hello friends,

I am hearing a annoying whining sound everytime I pick up a call on my HTC 8X for 1-2 seconds.

this problem doesn't occur if I put my phone on silent mode.

Please help and give me suggestions.

This happens to me as well. But only when I have a call with my mother.

The whining lasts for the entire call though, not just the first couple of seconds...

Sorry about the joke there.

This doesn't happen on my handset, and I've not heard about this happening to anyone else. Does the same thing happen when you make a call too?

It shouldn't really have this behaviour. Does the whine sound like it's line noise, or does it sound more like it's produced by the phone itself?

It might be an idea to talk to your mobile provider and see if it's something that they know about. Or you can get your phone replaced as faulty.

If the noise sounds like it's created by the phone (rather than line noise), you can attempt to see if a hard reset fixes the glitch.

A soft reset will power your phone down and hopefully reset any software glitches. A hard reset will take the phone back to original settings so you need to add your accounts/apps back again.

hard reset deletes everything on your phone and returns it to factory settings aka the way it was when you first activated.

Soft reset is more like a battery pull for a phone that doesn't have a removable battery.
