Battery suddenly empty

I have a problem on my 8X.

The battery dropped from 88% to 0% (took quite some time on the plug for it to startup again) instantly.

Where is the fault of that? Do I need a new battery or is something else of the hardware defective?

The phone is hardly ever used, because its my spare, maybe 100 minutes speaking time, but I play games on it

It is running Dev. Preview the newest version.

I have experienced something like that from time to time, very seldom, but has happened where every battery based device drained in a snap in the whom house. If you look st my past posts I had a post lil this. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless frequency goes up

A sharp decline, like 50-20 would be understandable (or actually bad calibration of the battery), but from 88-0%?


It happened to me once before (on my 8X), but never on my 920 or any other phone I had.

I saw that thread, but it didnt show any reasons or solutions.

I had my 920 very close by and the battery was still good after. I think it was a hardware problem, but it looks like it is rare.
