My wife's TITAN 1 kept breaking into 2 pieces (falling our of the shell) with every slight drop or hard bump. That happened a lot since she's constantly around small kids. We never had any problems with call quality or anything. The phone worked great.
She upgraded to the TITAN 2 and we love the new phone. I'm glad they switched to a non-removable battery, because it seems way more sturdy. It looks amazing in the CaseMate case, and the curved glass is a great touch.
If anyone is considering the TITAN 2 to hold you over until October (WP8) I highly recommend the TITAN 2
