A software update is available for the HTC Titan. In Zune it just says HTC Update without any change log.

Clicking "more info" leads to Microsoft's site, which says "If you have questions about what's included in a phone manufacturer update, contact your phone manufacturer. " So I went to HTC's website, which has help pages for every phone they make except the Titan. Interestingly, when the phone is being updated, Windows refers to it as "Eternity" instead of Titan. This is what changed in the About page: (I underlined the parts that changed.)

Firmware revision number old: 1600.2200.10806.401
Firmware revision number new: 1600.2200.10902.401

Bootloader version old: 1.8.160015.3(132000)
Bootloader version new: 1.9.160015.3(132193)

Does anyone notice anything different after updating?

Is this UK or somewhere else?
Carrier specific?
If I check my phone it says no updates available.
I am just plugging in to see what Zune says....UK sim free model.

Zune picked it up and downloading right now.
No idea what is in it - HTC Titan still isn't listed in the support section of HTC website.
Radar is there but no Titan.

How long should it take to install an update?
This is my first software update on WP7 - the download took a few minutes, phone rebooted and has been on step 6 of 10 for about 20 minutes.
Zune says "restarting phone", phone has pic of phone and pc with cable unplugged and arrow pointing to pc.
Do i just keep waiting or is it abnormal to take this long?

You should see a grey progress bar on the device which shows you how far the process has run. It is complete when the bar moves to the right side of the device. It can take quite a while as it backs everything up.

Sent from my HTC Titan using Board Express

I have no bar on the phone just picture of phone with cable and laptop.
On Zune on laptop there is bar up top left of screen above "update in progress" but doesn't seem to have moved for a long time.

Go to the pub and have a beer. Look at the phone again in about 30 minutes. :D

Oh, got fed up after 2 hours being stuck on step 6, cancelled and unplugged.
Reloaded Zune, plugged phone in and started again.
This time it did everything and within 5 minutes is now on step 7 - 10% backed up and flying.

Wondering if I should of unplugged and plugged back in after the new driver update despite Zune telling me leave plugged in.

2 hours is too long for sure. Glad it's working now. i just didn't want you to unplug after 20 minutes. :)

boom, half an hour and comeplete.
Strange that date is now 17/2/1980 and time is 1700.
No idea what the update was for or why Titan isn't listed on HTC support page - remember when I got original Desire it wasn't listed for ages after launch.

**just found in system settings new option**
Sound enhancer -
Music - no effects or SRS enchancement and equalizer options (earphones only)
Video - no effects or srs or HTC 5.1 surround sound (earphones only)

These are only new things i have found in settings.
