If you take a look at the MIX day 2 Keynote for wp7 when Joe starts talking about IE9 on wp7 (around the 28 minute mark) he switches phones to demonstrate ie9 and it looks like he has a trophy for the demo.

Not sure if it is the verizon version. Looks like there is a no sim card icon though. Not sure what that means considering it is known that the verizon trophy is to be a global phone. But at least we know the trophy will get some mango action. :)

Of course its getting its share of mango, every wp7 device will. Now if your hoping it launches with mango, then be prepared to wait for the trophy to launch around october/november (which probably won't happen). It'll more than likely launch sometime in May but with NoDo. Then play the waiting game with the rest of us lol.

I never said I was expecting it to launch with Mango. I was just glad they seem to be keeping their word on having current devices be upgradable to Mango

Not only would I like Verizon to launch ANY WP7 phone, I really had hoped they would have picked a nicer phone - e.g. 4 - 4.3" screen. They could have picked the Samsung Focus which you either love or hate (I love the crisp screen, slim desing and very long battery life compared to other WP7 phones although some are concerned it feels cheap since it is very light), the Omnia7 or the HD7 which has been rereleased with a newer screen technology. They are rereleasing WP7 phone models and we still don't have 1 on Verizon yet.

The Arrive on Sprint is a nifty bulky small screened brick for people who claim they want a physical keyboard. However the older EVO is still outselling the newer EVO Shift because most people prefer a large screened, SLIM phone over a bulky little brick.

The hardware is every bit as important as the OS. The palm WebOS phone was a complete POS as far as the hardware goes and look at where that got them. For some reason both Sprint and Verizon picked bottom rung WP7 hardware for their initial WP7 phones.

You'd think with MS throwing money to try and help WP7 survive, they could have sweetened the deal for Sprint and Verizon to get high end WP7 phones.

it has been stated that the device shown at mix is not the trophy, but the current dev phone, which is running the new chassis spec and has a gyroscope in it as well.

they've just swapped the old asus handsets with new ones made by htc.

and yes, the trophy will get mango, along with all the other wp7 handsets, but with the way verizon is with updates, and their current attitude towards wp7, you can bet we'll be on the bottom end of that update cycle.

Can mango give the trophy 4G? I thought I'd heard that. Is it even possible?

Mango cannot give the Trophy 4G, because it lacks the necessary LTE antenna.

4G has a strict hardware dependency not only in the antenna but in the actual modem component on the phone, so you will not see any Windows Phone 7 devices with LTE until they release the next hardware spec.
