I have a 2011 Jetta TDI with a navigation system on a pretty decent size screen.

When I first got the Jetta, I had an iPhone. When I connected inside the car via bluetooth, the car identified the phone as an iPhone and listed Verizon Wireless as the carrier.

When I got rid of my iPhone and switched over to the Trophy, my car identifies the trophy as "HTC mwp6985."

I was able to change the name of my phone using the Zune software, but it is the model number that is shown in my car.

Does anyone here know of a way to have my car recognize the phone as something other then "HTC mwp6985"?

It's certainly not a major issue and the phone works great with the car, but if there's a way to change it, I would very much like to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
You download and log in to Zune on your PC. Then when you connect your phone, under settings you have the option to name your phone whatever you want to. I use a bluetooth speakerphone in the car and it was a little annoying to hear the long name it was by default. tb
